Bitmap Books- PC Engine: The Box Art Collection

This next retro gaming book from Bitmap Books has finally been published and released.

PC Engine: The Box Art Collection.

This is the third Box Art book they have made. The first 2 being for the Super Famicom and the Gameboy.

I really like the format of these books. Whilst it does concentrate on one game box art cover per page, they also include some screenshots, information and a brief description of the game and how good the version is on that system.

The PC Engine (TurboGrafx 16 in the west) isn't a system I've ever owned, only ever having played it's games via emulation. This book covers a broad snapshot of the most popular games released for the system so it will be great as a reference to dig into the system games catalogue and explore what it has to offer. After a quick flick through there are versions of well known games I want to try out to see what these versions are like. Such as Shadow of the Beast, Bomberman and Streat Fighter II.

There is a large chapter at the front of the book exploring the PC Engine. It's development and release. The addition of the CD drive, as well as its popularity and games developers.

Well worth getting this if you even have a passing interest.

As usual this book meets Bitmap Books very high stanards of quality they have become known for. It's a large square book with a thick silver cover and a strong binding. The pages are of a thick high quality paper with detailed high quality colour printing. A lot of time and effort as always has been put into this book.

If you haven't played a classic game in years, it's never too late to start!

And as always I'm still just as impressed with the quality and level of packaging these books arrive in. Plus the little attentions to detail.
