Thread: PDF Scans
AlexJ 23:49 29th December 2006
http://amiga.treasureland.net/ has started to put scans of full Amiga magazines online. They're big files (80MB+) but they are awesome quality and are complete (with original ads etc.)

Limited choice but it's definately quality ahead of quantity.

That was interesting. I instantly visited the site and searched for those classic issues of CU Amiga. I have most of the issues, if not all, of those that are featured there. I agree with quality ahead of quantity.

I also couldn't help but notice the Swedish Datormagasinet. That brings back memories for sure.

The September 1993 issue of CU Amiga they have on there was the very first Amiga magazine I owned. I would have been 5 years old at the time when I got it.

I've been in communication with the owner of Treasureland for some time now to see if we can use the magazines he has already added to the site as Treasureland hasn't really seen much activity. Hopefully we will be ok to use those on classicamiga. I did state that I would keep the Treasureland page at the start of all the pdfs to show their origin.

Yeah, that site has been running for some time now but seems to not get updated all that often. It is quite a good start for Amiga Power though and I was considering using those scans and creating a proper PDF of each issue. As with all such sources I would contact the original creator of the scans first though and include an acknowledgement of the original image scan origin within the PDFs.

To save me having a bunch of .jpg's I've actually already done PDF's of them (just a simple batch download, and then Windows's Print Wizard to Adobe PDF Distiller), if you get permission to use them, let me know and I'll send you the PDF's.

Cool, as soon as I get the magazine section started I will see if I can contact him. And as you have already created PDFs for them Alex, that would be cool.
