Thread: Retro file collection archives - Share any you know still exist

As governments continue to clamp down on the internet and companies such as Nintendo target those sharing game roms it's becoming harder and harder to find good sources for retro content.

I often explore Archive.org looking for links and content and stumbled across this:

https://archive.org/details/softwarecapsules

Quite an extensive catalogue of archiving and collection groups that I will be looking through in more detail when I get time.

Do you have any retro game and software archive links?

Since January this year I got a Retrobeast HDD from Kriscoolmod, the 24TB drive. It's really great and has a lot of stuff covered. He has many HDDs that you can add making it a total of 144TB for the whole setup.

I'm also currently helping him out by providing art, like I did a lot of missing logos for systems and currently I'm working on 2.5D covers for PC Games. It's a lot of work, but I like to help and contribute to the community.

The 24TB is also continuously updated via Syncovery, so every 2 months there is a bigger update which you can sync from his server with all the updates, works quite well. He just added 100.000 marquees, for every single game.

I'm on their discord channel for helping out, so far it has been great.

I'm still using Arcade Punks for some setups: https://www.arcadepunks.com/

And also for complete sets, the site Back'ups-Me is quite great, although ratio based: https://back-ups.me/index.php

I just made a logo for the Retrobeast, spend some hours on it but I think it looks great. Has all the features they use in their logos.

Made now 800 covers for PC games. There are some "missing" (not many, like 5), only wrongly named by him, but it's already fixed. And that's only part of it, on the other disk I still have to do around 2500 covers, at the moment I'm working on PSX logos, there's also around 2500.
