Games were a lot harder back then. I was quite young but do have a couple of fond memories of the Speccy.

Lack of saves, limited lives, and a need to learn and momorise pixel prefect jumps and onscreen positions made a lot of games from that era really hard. Thank god for poke cheats on the Speccy and similar on other systems. Then finally the training screen on cracked Amiga games.
