The latest release from Bitmap books has arrived:

Bitmap books always creates very high quality publications. This latest book is huge, spanning 455 pages, with top quality printing on nice glossy thick pages; with some folding out to create a 4 page spread. I would say it's print quality is some of the best they have created to date.
It goes into great detail about this genre and explores it across every system, starting with 1980 and Kung-Fu Master, right through to 2020 with the recently released Streets of Rage 4.
It's not a picture book. Instead devoted at least one whole page to a single game, with many occupying 2 or even 4 pages. And containing detailed descriptions about each, as well as mentioning the different versions and their unique details. There are some very high quality screenshots and sprite images, with double pages dedicated to a game's stand out or classic moment, or exploring its character sprites, levels or fighting moves.
I always use Bitmap's books as a gaming reference to explore a system or genre, to go back and explore game's I missed at the time and to see what each had to offer.
Highly recommended for any retro gaming fan. And I would thank Bitmap books and the authors of each book for continuing to create such amazing publications.
