Thread: Got me a Spectrum +2 Grey
Buleste 12:24 23rd November 2016
Managed to get me an early serial number (001800) UK Grey +2 for £11.61, untested. Had to buy a RGB to SCART cable to up the cost but it seems to work perfectly. Taken apart and cleaned (tack in the keyboard) and now trying To see where I can add a 3.5mm audio in.

Nice. I never owned any Spectrums but a friend was really into them back in the day and owned a +3. For a Spectrum I thought it was a pretty nice system and although the 3" discs were very unusual it seems to work OK, if a bit slow. Still preferred my Amstrad CPC though.

3 Inch disks are so weird. Trust Alan.

I'll be honest and say that whilst it's a nice addition to the family I still prefer my +, however it's great for testing the TZXDuino on.

I read they used 3" disks instead of the much more popular 3.5" disks at the time because Amstrad had got hold of a lot of drives and disks cheaply.

Very typically Alan. Does his Del Trotter bit and uses a format that made things harder and more expensive in the long run.
