Did any of you take advantage of the Steam Autumn sale over the past week?

I grabbed quite a few as many were as much as 75% discounted, meaning some were under £2. Real bargains.

I didn't even visit the site once in my life

Loads of games use the Steam client so I've got it running all the time. Means I don't visit their site, but access it directly through the client.

They have some great weekly discount specials. But this past week they extended it across most of the site, including many fairly new releases.

I never used to think much of Steam when it first came out with Half-Life 2, but recently it has worked really well and nearly every game is available, except EA games, were they insist on using their own Origin client, which is aa bit crap.

Same here, I have the Steam client open all the time. And I've bought a ton of games there over the years (and haven't played half of them!). Mostly it's because I see a game I'd like on sale and grab it even though I don't plan on playing it for a while. So far this autumn sale I've only bought Torchlight 2. Haven't seen much else interesting that I don't allready own yet. But I bought a good bunch during the summer sale, most of which I haven't touched yet. And to think that in a month there will be the holiday sale..

I buy way too many games. If it wasn't for that I don't mind, I'd have to say I have a problem! Good thing they're dirt cheap during the sales.

I noticed you already own a large majority of games I look at on Steam.

That was the old days. Steam is really stable and nice to use these days.

I also used to avoid it too. In fact I hated having any game clients installed. I've changed my mind more recently as I've got fed up with the amount of room physical games take up, so I'm going as digital only as possible, and worth that really getting into Steam and the othet download clients available.

I grabbed that one a few months ago. Very nice. Unreal Tournament 3's visuals are quite impressive for a game 5 years old!

Steam have collection offers quite often at great prices. Some are just one game series like Red Faction, whereas others are whole publisher or franchise collections, and those can be really good.

The Quakecon collection (All of id Software's games) was really good value earlier in the year. And in the recent sales I grabbed the Complete Star Wars collection for about £30, including ever Star Wars game on Steam, except the Lego ones.

Some other good ones have been:
Red Faction
Elder Scrolls
Red Orchestra
Total War
Warhammer 40K
X
Deus Ex
GTA
Hitman
Tomb Raider (last 3)
