A1200 and there's no why.
More expandable, can be faster, AGA chipset and a lot more advantages.

The A600 has the same issues as the A500 Plus at the time, because they both had the updated Kickstart 2 rom, the ECS chipset and 1MB chip ram. The newer kickstart rom was the main issue that older games didn't like, and for those a ReLoKick 1.3 disk would get them working. But also some other games hated the 1MB chip ram as they expected only the 512KB chip ram + 512KB slow/fast ram configuration of most A500 setups and crashed when the memory registered were not as they expected. A case of the game developers directly coding to the hardware level (to get more from the system) and not to the guidelines set out by Commodore.
These days such issues are mostly gone by using an A1200 and WHDLoad. This is because it fixes all supported games to remove such issues, and where a game requires an older kickstart it has rom images it can utilise for compatibility. For that reason the A1200 is definitely the best Amiga to use for gaming.
