Thread: [PS3] - Dongle Free EBOOTS
Demon Cleaner 00:53 13th June 2012
That's good news. Some guys are decrypting the TrueBlue dongle, and already released 2 patches (eboots) for Ninja Gaiden 3 and FIFA Street 2012, so that you're able to play these games that require firmware above 4.xx on your 3.55 CFW.

I tried both tonight, and both are working fine. Hopefully they will manage to bypass dongles soon, and release a new CFW.

Now, initially I myself thought that the work that E3 was doing was just going to result in a new dongle on the market and you know what, I’m glad they proved me wrong... well kind of. Not only have they found a way to get newer games to work on 3.55 CFW they found three but one of them will involve an E3 dongle, now there is no point in trying to explain all of this myself and mess it up so I’ve posted a quote from the E3 team below as well as two patched game links to let you run your legal backups of Ninja Gaiden 3 and FIFA Street 2012 on your CFW enabled PS3 without a dongle.

Very nice. My second PS3 with 3.55 CFW should be arriving in the next few days, so I can try this out.

I got a True Blue dongle now, due to a misplaced order, then I had to change the order, as I didn't get the money back. So I ended up eventually with the TB dongle.

I must say that it works really great. I put a new CFW on the PS3, the one from True Blue (3.55 v2), which also allows you to play games until 3.55 just like any other like Kmeaw. Dongle update is so easy, just install the update .pkg file to your PS3, then update the dongle through it.

With the dongle inserted, PS3 recognizes the system as 4.11 True Blue 2.7. Online is still not possible though. But I now downloaded about 25 games that needed 3.55+, even 4.xx, and they just run perfectly.

The dongle was 69€, which is basically the price here for one new game, so if I can now play over 30 new games, it's worth the money.

You need the True Blue dongle and their custom firmware, in the meantime v2.

There's also a list of the patches for the newest games.

Bollocks!

Well at least I get 30 games for the price of one. Although they could bring something else out now which would make the TB obsolete? We'll see.

Btw, only to keep you updated, newest games coming out all the time, almost together or only 1 day later comes the EBOOT for it. I finished last week already with Hitman Absolution, which I had 1 week before it's initial release.

Nice, so the True Blue dongle continued to be supported for newer releases?

BTW, what did you think of Hitman Absolution? I've played the previous games in the series and enjoyed them.

No, True Blue is obsolete since some months. You only need a CFW like Kmeaw, and the corresponding EBOOT file, or .pkg to install for your game.

Hitman Absolution is absolutely great, I had a lot of fun with it, and this is definitely one of the games that I would play again, to see if I can do it differently, as there is often more than one way to assassinate your targets, or run/sneak/shoot/disguise through a level. I was basically only sneaking silently, as using fire power leads to absolutely nothing, only hundreds more enemies will engage you.

Nice. Will have to play it when i get time.

Regarding the eboots. How did they manage to do it with just eboots now, when a dongle was required before?
