Hi everyone,
I got a Genlock GVP G-Lock together with CDTV and A4000.
I was trying to get it work, but i so far... nothing...
I plug the GVP G-Lock to RGB 23 pin in Amiga 1200, then the other side to LCD TV.
The image pass thru it - ok.
If i put a RCA cable on CVBS out to the TV, it also gives me image.
But when i try to put sound or image as imput, there is no output.

I dont have a vcr or other source to test the video in, i test it with a Commodore CDTV as video input,
and it didnt work...

If I remember, this only works with its software and isn't a standalone hardware genlock, so you have to get hold of the genlock software, not just the drivers.

I try it again, and sound works.
I did 2 inputs (1 cd audio + Commodore CDTV) connected do genlock, and the output did mix both, sound quality is good. So, it workd, just with the drivers, no extra software.... i guess the video should work to. But i only try with CDTV as input... maybe he doesn't like other Amiga as input as i must be a VCR or camera....
Anyway, anyone has a genlock software?

The GVP G-Lock was one of he best Genlocks at the time for the Amiga so you do have a good one there.

Trying to mix 2 Amiga sources explains why it wasn't working. You do need a video source and an Amiga source so it knows which to overlay. Any graphics software will work as all the genlock does is key the video to a specific colour from the Amiga output to make transparent and show the video through the graphics, so DPaint can work. However something like Scala was good software to create graphics and text to overlay for genlocking as you could control the Amiga content being overlaid manually or automated as an animated sequence, a bit like a powerpoint presentation.

the problem was my A1200... looks like some Revs dont work with this genlock. (Amibay member told me that)
so i try with my A600 and it worked.
I can see image from a video camera or video from CDTV, but image is not still, it's looping horizontaly in my screen....
But i dont have any software yet, only the drivers.... at least it works.... anyone nows how to "stop" image?
what software should i get? Scala ?
anyone has scala?

Sounds like you have a sync issue if the video isn't stable. When you say it is looping horizontally, do you mean the whole screen is shifting a roll sideways?

Is that from an S-video or composite input? If it is S-Video then the sync line in the cable might not be working. If it is composite I have no idea as the Amiga RGB gets its sync from the composite signal as standard.

Although as the G-Lock is controlled by a software control panel on the Amiga, it probably has controls to adjust the Vertical and Horizontal Sync of the input signals to stabilise them. With hardware Genlocks you often had a dial to do this.

Thanks, i got the manual yesterday. Must read it. Also got Scala.
the video camera (old 8mm analog) is connected to the genlock by composite. The same with CDTV, both have the image walking on screen.
Must try other cables, and sure read the manual :-)
