Thread: Moonstone-How bloody hard is this game
poundrick 09:07 8th August 2011
Christ on a bike I got really excited after finally getting hold of Moonstone, booted the game watched the lovely intro and then bang, I got absolutely mullered on every occasion on the very first stage, I tried to block and move and attack, by god this game is hard so very hard or am I just rubbish at playing games.

I've not played it in years, but I never used to find it hard at the beginning. Great game.

Keep at it. All monsters have a specific pattern of attacking. Once you see through those patterns, it really isn't a hard game at all.

One of the best hack'em ups, ever!

Cool that you're playing Moonstone. It's one of my favourite Amiga games.

To be able to succeed, you must (as mentioned by Sharingan) learn the different patterns of attack. I still remember the different tactics from the good old days, but it is not easy to explain by writing.

Good luck! After a bit of playing, you'll be a champ!

Here's a nice video from a project of a remake of Moonstone, unfortunately that got cancelled for, like they mention, because for as much as we love and respect Moonstone, it is not in our intentions to steal their ideas and profit on them.

They have a new project running called Astaroth, you can find it here.

The graphics in that update looked really nice. Such a shame it was cancelled. I don't get what the problem would have been in releasing it as a retro-remake into the community at no cost? Or was there a copyright issue that stopped them. Why owns the rights to moonstone these days?
