Thread: Strange alphabet. Which game was this?

Hi everybody.
I was cleaning up my old room I used to live in my parents house, 20 and more years ago, and I stumbled in a postcard a friend of mine sent me, using some sort of alphabet that I remember comes from a game we used to play together, back in 1990…
This is a picture of it:

IMG_0619.jpg

The first row says clearly "I (something) You", could be "salute", "miss", or else.
The second row, no clues.

I guess it should be an adventure, probably, we loved adventures.

Can someone between you be of any help?
Thank you in advance,
frillo

Hi,

It is from Captain Blood.

The whole conversation system in that game used pictograms to communicate with the aliens you encountered on planets.

We have the full manuals for the game as PDFs on the site. Go to http://www.classicamiga.com/content/view/1185/62/ and then to the Manuals and Download tab and click on Instruction Manual (PDF) to load the PDF. There is a section in the manual the lists the icons and what they mean.

Looking through them your message directly I think it translates as: ME.. HOWDY.. YOU. SMALL... but I can't see the final symbol. Could be TUKAS, BOUNTY or something else. Have a look through them and see if you can work it out.

Hope that helps.
