That must really have upset the collector.

What I don't understand is they had advanced warnings of these floods, and for the past weeks the news has been reporting it. Maybe he was caught completely by surprise, but if that had been me I would have packed up anything in my house that couldn't easily be replaced and moved it to a save location. Even getting a load of thick plastic bags and sealing everything inside them would have helped.

He could of tried, but if he was in the area that ended up with water rising 11 metres, he wouldn't have stood a chance

True. What's the situation in Queensland at the moment with the storm? Has it passed or still creating destruction?

The storm died out, it did make it quite far inland, dumping rain on half the country! Absolutely insane. It was lucky that it passed between two large cities, but it did wipe out most of Mission Beach It could have been much worse!
