Thread: New A1200 68030 Accelerator available for preorder. Stock expected 30th November!

The first of the new Amiga accelerators being developed and build by Individual Computers is about to be released.

Amigakit are currently taking pre-orders for the A1200 68030 version. This card is very small compared to most accelerators released in the past. It comes with a 28MHz 030 CPU and 64MB or ram built into the board. And all for just £82.99. The CPU is missing an MMU and FPU, but for most tasks neither is needed, and this is much cheaper than you will find a Blizzard 1230 for, and those are 20 years old, whereas these are new accelerators with a warranty!

So if you have a stock A1200 and are looking to make it a bit faster and add some fast ram this is a brilliant solution at a very good price. perfect for WHDLoad and general Workbench and applications use.

Worth noting. This is the budget A1200 accelerator being released. A more expensive version, with a 56MHz 030 CPU with MMU, is also in development and should be released in the new year. No prices have been announced for that version yet.

ACA 630

An A600 accelerator is also in development, called the ACA630. This is planned for a pre-Christmas release. It will be slightly more expensive than this A1200 version, but when you think how scarce 060 accelerators are for the A600 this is a brilliant hardware development.

It will feature a 25MHz 030 CPU and 32MB ram.

Interesting to hear. I didn't know these were coming.

Though I think I will stick with my 1230 MkIV for now.

Wow, that's really cool for people who have A1200's without expansions. No Amiga A1200 left working today should be without a fastram accelerator and WHDLoad.

The A600 one is just brilliant - peeps can now run the ClassicWB on the little machines.

You read it wrongly. The CPU is missing (doesn't have) an MMU and FPU.
