Thread: External Floppy

Hi,
Does a external floppy work as a primary floppy? Imagine a single disk game, does it work if i use the external floppy and not the internal?

OS2.0 Amigas an upwards can boot from any drive, by holding both mousebuttons when turning it on to access the boot menu. However a lot of single disk games were coded with some very strange diskreaders that will only recognise the internal drive, so even if you boot the disk from an external it will still not work as soon as its own program starts running things. Especially true with demos. Games that run under workbench will run on any drive like any other program. Simply comes down to the particular game's programming in the end.

Thanks for the info Teho,
i was thinking, i found some external drives cheaper then internal drives and every year there are less floppy drives available, so the external would be an alternative... but as you say it's not the 100% same...
