has anybody tried installing Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 in DOSbox?
I did it with 3.1 for a laugh and was surprised that it worked.

I've not, but it is a pretty cool emulator. Have any of you tried the DoxBox frontend D-Fend Reloaded? DC and myself run it and think it is great.

I always use D-Fend (and D-Fend Reloaded once the original D-Fend ceased development). It's such a nice and friendly way to set it all up. Not more messing about with CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files

Yup, I've got 3.1 installed and it runs just fine.
AFAIK Windows 95 is also installable, I remember reading about it a few months ago on the previous version.
People even managed to make it run Glide games with acceleration, though I don't remember the details...

Really? I would love to setup Win 95 with glide to get some of the classics like Unreal going again. Although, I do actually still have a P2 400 with a Voodoo 2 installed so have the real thing.

And for most OSs I think a proper virtual machine like VirtualBox is a better solution.

True, DosBox will never beat VMware or VirtualBox when it comes to newer-then-win3.1 os's, but, you know, just for fun...
I'll ask the guy who sent me the link to that forum about installing W95 on it.

Btw, a DOSBox version has been released for the Dingoo lately, didn't test it yet though.
