Thread: What's going on today?
Buleste 12:42 6th May 2010
Is it just me or does today seem like an angry day.

What with everything that is going on on Amibay (I'm not going to discuss it here you'll have to look for yourselves), an administrator and founding member of another site I'm a member to has quit due to the amount of abuse and crap people are giving him and I have just been very rude to "Rebecca" form Mumbai or wherever she is who phoned me up about government insulation grants.

Is anyone else having an angry day?

Me too. Just a bit boring. I was going to go out earlier but a) it was raining and b) my hands are hurting alot from sliding across a road yesterday.

Haven't had anything to get angry about.

There's a story there that has piqued my interest. Tell me more. Was it an intentional sliding or an accidental sliding or a Homer?

I'm trying not to get into the Amibay thing so I'd rather keep it as are you having an angry day that is not due to recent events on Amibay. I.e. just because you haven't voted yet, having pieces of paper pushed through your door to remind you to vote and then when you go out your front door find that the bastard has dropped their litter over your front door step.

Buleste: It was accidental. My bike slipped on a very gritty and dusty road whilst trying to go round a corner quite fast. My brakes were a bit too worn out to slow me down enough but I didn't really want to squeeze them too hard due to the risk of skidding - not that that would have made much difference.

I've no idea what is going on on Amibay and can't be bothered to look at the moment. Is it something bad?

We have had to remove one of the senior staff members from the administration team. The members do not have any knowledge of the huge number of reasons and events which took place before we reached this point and had to take this decision, so at the moment the staff member who has been dismissed is the one making himself appear wronged and the rest of the senior staff the ones in the wrong.

We hope this will all blow over quickly and Amibay can move forward and continue into the future.

Today is a happy day, the sun is out, there is a light breeze and the birds are singing!

I'm not on Amibay, but there's a story I'm reminded of which may help anyone feeling angry about transient events.

A King was so rich he could buy anything he wanted. He had palaces, servants, and anyone would do his wish. He began to grow weary of being able to have everything the instant he spoke, and fell into melancholy.

He set a challenge: to the person who could bring him both immense happiness and immense sadness using just one sentence, he would give the hand of his daughter. Many tried and failed. Years passed until a very wise old man came along, and passed the King a note. The King read the note, and gave his daughter to the wise man. The note read, simply, "All this shall pass".

For me, today is a bad day ...... but not for the reasons posted so above (the AmiBay saga)
I've had a few issues going on for quite a long time, and they still are not going away!
