Penguin Group Australia had to reprint 7,000 copies of Pasta Bible last week, the Sydney Morning Herald has reported.

The reprint cost A$20,000 ($18,000; £12,000), but stock in bookshops will not be recalled as it is "extremely hard" to do so, Penguin said.

The recipe was for tagliatelle with sardines and prosciutto.

"We're mortified that this has become an issue of any kind, and why anyone would be offended, we don't know," head of publishing Bob Sessions is quoted as saying by the Sydney newspaper.

Penguin said almost every one of the more than 150 recipes in the book listed salt and freshly ground black pepper, but a misprint occurred on just one page.

"When it comes to the proof-reader, of course they should have picked it up, but proof-reading a cookbook is an extremely difficult task. I find that quite forgivable," Mr Sessions said.

If anyone complains about the "silly mistake", they will be given the new version, Penguin said.
I bet that worried a few Aboriginals.

I prefer the Austrian Tribal Crossovers, though.

I knew that Australia had a tough immigration policy but that is a little extreme.

Some years ago I wanted to start my own political party here, and had a similar idea that could solve two social problems in just a few weeks.
Those who are hungry would simply eat those who are unemployed, and, voila!

Well you have some presidential elections coming up so now's the perfect time.

You should try get hold of a copy. It'll be worth loads on ebay.

My wife showed me this story in a newspaper a few weeks ago. And it has since been spreading. Even Frank Skinner mentioned it on his show last week.

You definitely should try to get hold of a copy as it will be a collectors items in the book world in years to come.

I may ask my mum to try get one as she's in Oz at the mo. I can see a few white supremacists trying to get a few copies as well.

Those in the southern red neck states of the USA might take the recipe a bit too literally though!
