Thread: I got an A500
Stephen Coates 14:43 14th April 2010
ED209 from the Lincs Amiga Group gave me his A500.

I was supposed to collect it at the LAG meeting a few weeks ago but didn't go, so he posted it to me.

There must have been some kind of mirracle, as it arrived at 8am today and was only posted yesterday afternoon, in Wales .

It is a bit dirty and a very yellowed, but I was only intending to use it for the keyboard PCB and the floppy drive, which I will swap out into my nice white A500+.

You could also try the retr0brite process on the yellowed A500 case and see how white you can get it. Then you would have a spare, or could sell it/offer it as a spare case back to someone else.

I am interested in trying retrobright, but I would first need to find a source of the chemicals.

BTW harrison, any idea how Royal Mail managed to deliver it so quickly? It was posted with Standard Parcels and took less than 24 hours.

Sometimes these things happen. If it was just between 2 main offices, and didn't need to go via a main distribution centre or other offices in between then it would be at the delivery office with the outward mail last night, so would have been delivered today.

I obviously wasn't paying much attention. It was an A500 Plus that he sent .

Fortunately, it works .
