When I recently repaired a PC for someone I had to replace the faulty PSU.

The faulty PSU is a Thermaltake unit that has a nice looking high gloss piano black finish, and a 12" fan behind a nice looking gold grill.

This got me thinking. The PSU might be faulty, but would I be able to fit anything inside the case to use it for something else?

The case is 14cm x 15cm x 8.6cm

Looking on mini-itx.com there are Pico-ITX motherboards that would easily fit. Measuring 10cm x 7.2 cm so it would easily fit. But using a C7 CPU isn't ideal.

So moving up to the next size, Nano-ITX, it looks like they will also fit! Measuring 12cm x 12xm they will also fit.

This could be an interest project.

Has anyone else built a mini-itx style PC, in an unusual case?

Or failing that, it could also be a nice external HDD enclosure.

My last project of this nature I installed an Efika into a Mac Cube enclosure... And mounted the old one in my server rack and am using the cube guts as a Panther server...

Since the Efika is running MorphOS I fully intend to replace the apple logo with a suitable Morph butterfly, but I haven't gotten that far yet... (Started playing with my 2000 instead.)

Nice. I've still not had chance to use Morph OS yet. What do you think of it? And how much classic Amiga software can it run? I understand it has some compatibility with Workbench 3 applications and utilities. Is that correct?

HaHA... I am NOT the guy to ask anything substantial about MorphOS! I have simply managed to get it installed and that is about it.. The interface is gorgeous and it runs quite quickly even on the meager Efika, but I have had little opportunity to really dive in with it, and actually have become a bit discouraged as everything I have tried I have run into roadblocks...

My biggest disappointment is when I attempted to load Samba so I could network with my windows and linux boxes... There is no easy way to load apps (as far as I have seen anyway) and multiple emails on Morphzone has resulted in copious amounts of responses such as "It is really easy to do!" and "Google is your friend" and other such useless stuff... I have since responded back challenging everyone to provide documentation on this "Really easy process" and have noticed several hundred views of the topic and precisely ZERO responses with instructions... This has happened three times now.. I am quite convinced that no one has actually DONE this and simply keep regurgitating emails and useless links they have been sent... And no one actually setting it up...

So my MorphOS experience is limited and frankly disappointing... (sorry)
