Where is Elite 4 David? WHERE IS IT DAMN YOU!!!!

Ok, I'm starting to feel old now. Loved this game on the BBC when I was in Infants/Junior school. Had a Spectrum and Vic-20 at home, but used to play this at school and round a frinds house.

Then a few years later I got an Atari ST.

Don't worry, I sold that and ended up with an Amiga Batman pack.

I saw it this morning in another forum, and I also tried to play Frontier on the Dingoo, but the alpha version is still slow.

Fair enough demusse; sometimes BBC block their vids abroad.

I also used to play Elite on the school Beebs whenever I could. It is amazing to think the game is now 25 years old. Still just as playable and still amazing how huge the game is.

Do you think that Elite 4, however it is designed and whenever it is released will ever live up to the original? Frontier was a great sequel, but it still didn't have the huge impact of the original.

Having been playing c64 Elite over the past few days I can safely say it's better on 8 bit. Improved graphics and speed seem to take some of the soul away.

I think part of the charm of wire-frame graphics was that it suggested the objects but you had to use your imagination to fill in the rest.
