Thread: Guide - games loaded from HD
Submeg 00:32 9th February 2007
I was looking for IK+, so I could play it for a bit and write a review, but realised that I only have the .lha file. I remember getting it to work before, but it's been a while since I have used this file. Does anyone know how or where the adf is? I tried planetemu, but no good.

I think this would be a good guide, as we have stuff on adf's but not hd files. Or do we and I am just blind?

It is quite easy to get the lha of a game to run using WinUAE.

First extract the LHA archive into a directory. I normally just extract the archive into a directory named the same as the archive itself.

Next fire up WinUAE and set it up as an A600 (IK+ works better on machines lower than KS3.0), and put a workbench 2 adf in the DF0: drive. Finally go to the harddrive section and create a new harddrive based on a directory. Now select the directory where you extracted the archive and call the drive DH0:

And that is it. Start WinUAE and it should boot to workbench and will also be showing the extracted archive as a HD on the workbench desktop. You can now open it up and load the files inside.

I am however in the process of porting the old harddrive tutorials over from the old site. I'm nearly complete with the first part which should be going live on the site some time soon.

Ahh...cool. Tis all good then, shall give that a whirl in a sec, just going through the games section and looking at what games I can write reviews for quickly.

IK+ should be easy to find as adf though, if you don't get it working, post a request in the requests section, and I'll attach it.

Try this one, I found it in Oz directory on the server, so no need to search for me too.

EDIT: I'll post it in the request topic.
