Thread: PS2 RPG list
Demon Cleaner 13:05 17th January 2007
I have Summoner 1 & 2, also Baldur's Gate and Champions of Norrath. Also Bard's Tale, but I don't have them in my RPG folder. I took this folder yesterday, and wrote down all the RPGs that were in there, so some might be missing. But the PURE RPGs are in it.

Persona 3 as you say isn't released yet, as is Rogue Galaxy or Wild Arms: Another Code F. But they will be added as they see the light, don't worry.

Hey, I had no idea that Full Metal Alchemist games existed. Are they any good?

My god that's a lot of RPGs?!?! Have you played them all through completely? That would take me like 8 years to do.

I would be more surprised if he hasn't played most of them all through completely!

I only have tested them, seemed not too bad. Graphics are not overwhelming though. And they also have real time combat system, not turn based. I prefer the turn based system, but I think that most people prefer real time.

Actually, I prefer turn-based systems also. When there's strategy involved, I like thinking through my moves, which you never have time for in real-time games.

Will have to look at some reviews for those. Loved the anime.

Me too. But it's a bit of a contradiction because I'm liking FFXII more than any previous FF game, but it is the first to not have turn based combat, instead having real-time combat with a mix of many ideas taken from the old turn based systems from the previous titles, such as a timer counting down to your next move.

Gimme the money, so that I don't have to go to work, and I'll do it, I promise you. I even write you reviews with screenshots and much more.

I'm not yet finished with watching FMA, I'm at episode 29. I have to watch this one first, because I want to attack the Texhnolyze anime, I have the complete series in a collector's box.

I've played both of the Full Metal Alchemist games for over an hour each (to see what the games were like) and they are definitely worth playing if you are a fan of Full Metal Alchemist. As DC mentioned previously the combat is real-time and is very Beat 'em up based with Combos being a key feature, but it is quite easy to get to grips with and there is a lot of variety in the combat system so you don't get bored (unlike some other real-time RPG systems which end up being single button bashing combat).

The games are also quite well scripted with some nice graphics and reasonable voice acting. The stories also seemed quite fresh, although they do still contain a lot of elements from traditional RPGs.

There is also a three more games in the series called:

Fullmetal Alchemist 3: Kami wo Tsugu Shoujo (Translated as: Fullmetal Alchemist 3: God of the Forever Girl), but sadly it doesn't look an English version is likely.

Full Metal Alchemist: Dream Carnival, which is out in Japan but again has no mention of an English version.

And finally Full Metal Alchemist: Destineer, which does have a Pending Q2 US release date stated currently.
