Just found this interesting thread on Amiga.org about a guy who is thinking about making scandoublers.
Here. The thread is still current but hasn't had any update as to when and how much the scandoublers will cost. Also it's not what you'd call compact but if it works then great.
Just looked around and it looks like he's also done a similar post on Amigaworld.net.
here. I almost feel left out as he seems to have forgotten about us.

Looking at the unit, i didnt distinctly see any video ram chips in there, so i seriously doubt it will flicker fix any screen, just upscan..
You can buy, quite cheaply, an upscaler that will take any amiga screen and upscan it to (640x480x32 *upto* 1440x900x32 ) what ever your display preference, it will also flicker fix by de-interlacing the screen and then scan doubling it.
I have one of these units and it upscanned my 1280x512x8 (super hires interlaced screen) to 1280x1024 on my 42" plasma... no flicker!... i tried it on my 19" monitor... no flicker.... infact its awesome....
the price.... £35 inc postage....
its gets better, it has 4 inputs
- VGA (not sure if it will handle 15kHz input)
- SVideo
- Composite
- RF
I have been working on some community projects with a Great guy called Narmi over at EAB, from this the development of the Narmi External Deluxe, which for around £15 will provide your amiga video port, with VGA, Composite and SVideo. the latter being selectable for NTSC / PAL
heres the development of them

and the final development
http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?&p=367709
heres the thread to state if ya want to be included in the Fabrication list
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=32807
the upscanner also has PIP and 100 channel program as well
so that pretty awesome and all it costs is £35 including postage from fleabay.

You told me about that ebay unit a while ago and it still looks very interesting. I will definitely will consider getting one soon.
And those homebrew projects were great to look at. Far beyond anything I could ever create as i have no soldering and hardly any electronics experience.

Did you have anyone drop out or how soon do you think the next batch will be ready?
You may want to post on Amiga.org and AmigaWorld.net as this subject crops up a lot.

Right working day eight now with zero work for me to do.
So have ordered that ebay item.
Will try both the A1200 and PS2 using it.
Will report back here as soon as I have tested it.
