Surely you have a trained version and enabled the invincibility cheat, so that there's no sprite collision, thus no chance of picking up stuff or getting killed.

Have you tried setting the collision level to 'full' under the chipset tab in the WinUAE settings?

Strange. I've never had any issues getting this game to work perfectly using a standard A1200 setup in WinUAE.

Are you using the version of the game I provided for the competition? If not then you can download it from the main site in our downloads section. It is an HDF so you will need to place it in the harddrives section of WinUAE. It is self booting so you don't need anything in the floppy drives.

Thanks for answers.. I could't find the version you provided for competition. I could't find any download link from this site:

The collision level doesn't help so it must be some kind of trainer mode. I got it from other website and it is ADF file.

You need to be registered and logged into the site before you can download the game.

I know that's a little dig, but I always loved Galaga. Few years ago we played a lot with friends trying to beat each other. Finally the high score looked like this

I don't remember well, but it was a good score also because I died first time in third fly (after 150 levels). I saw better scores on the internet, but probably cheated or created by modifying hex values (usually number of level is covered or there are only few scores - it is impossible to do score like this in third play...). It took me two months to hit this, played on real Ami, not UAE, using mouse (this isn't make game easier for everyone, my friend Slowik used a joystick). I still remember how happy I was, when i get over 1.000.000 after few days of play

Very nice score. As you say, it takes a lot of practice, learning the level patterns etc to start clocking up big scores.

We are hoping to start some gaming highscore competitions again this year in here, so keep checking back with us.

Whoa, as if I came third! It was such a terrible score! Is Deluxe Galaga on the PS3 by any chance?

I think you can get an arcade collection for the PS3 from Namco or Atari that includes the original arcad version. You can purchase it through the PS Store for about £6 when I last looked.

Although now with the PS3 CFW released we should start seeing more emulators appearing for the PS3, and I can imagine it can handle MAME well, so some great retro arcade gaming on the PS3 coming soon I hope. BTW, off topic, but does anyone know if anyone has developed a networked multiplayer version of MAME? Wouldn't it be great to hold a mame tornament on the site later in the year, with members playing against each other online?
