I read on the internet the other day that if you jump around the Bong Elf and time it just right, something happens.
Yes, it was a bit dull if it was 1-player. The split-screen worked well (horizontal, and it was a horizontal-scroller game), and Helsing walked in a funny way. I always wondered if Smokey the Bong...
I had to explain to my kids what cassette tapes were the other day. They were fascinated. For them, Blu-rays, smartphones and internet-everywhere is the norm, just an accepted fact of life.
I bought Brides of Dracula on budget for £7 at the time. Had many hours of fun playing that with friends. Great days.
I used to play mp3's on my '060. I know that's overkill for your question, but they played just fine. I'm sure I had AHI set up on WB3.1, which gave me 14-bit output. There was definitely a 14 in...
We watched The Goonies on Saturday. I was mighty surprised - all 4 of the main characters, about 9-10 years old, all said the "S" word within the first 5 minutes - one of them to his mum! A...
I am constantly explaining to them that what they see isn't real, it's just special effects. In my day you could tell it wasn't real, now there's no difference between CGI and reality. There is...
Can't believe I forgot Labyrinth! I have The Dark Crystal, that's some amazing storytelling, I must get that one out of the loft.
Ghostbusters - my dad took me to see that when I was 6. ...
The kids were clamouring for a film last night, so I had a think and rather than put on one of the million CGI/cartoon films they have, put on The Princess Bride. They were enthralled, silent for 2...
The Longest Journey is actually 12 years old :notworthy: - I bought my boxed copy second-hand in 2000!
It was 5 years ago since I played Dreamfall!
My friend also has Heavy Rain, I will see if...
Yes, they're both adventures...guess I should have said "point & click".
I play Oblivion in 3rd person mainly - much easier to see yourself in your surroundings and have a much bigger field of view. Then I switch to 1st person when I need to do something intricate like...
Just watched the vid with Skyrim footage...damn, wish I hadn't now!

Watch him beat the wolf, then kick it in the head!
Skyrim will be too expensive for me to get new. I'm probably not even halfway through the main Oblivion quest yet, let alone all the faction quests (still haven't joined a guild). It's the Game of...
Someone lent me Oblivion, which I'm enjoying since I can freely roam around the entire world. They also lent me the big fat massive guidebook, so I've been doing all the sidequests too. The one...
sweet lord it's magic
Turns out there's a Village Mode in Two Worlds II where you build a village. Now I just have to wait for the price to drop a bit

hardocp.com did an interview with this guy a few months ago, apparently the guy doesn't really have formal skills but came up with the idea a few years ago. Euclideon have been accused of vaporware...
Not really into the conflict stuff, it's more the 'creating a utopia' that I like.
I played the demo for From Dust last night, that was quite good.
Are there any city/empire/kingdom-building games? Like The Settlers or Anno - where you get to build up civilisations from scratch? I can't find anything.
I've been using Teracopy and Unlocker for 3+ years. Teracopy is very useful, especially when doing long copies or big external backups. The buffer feature is great, also it copies quicker.
Strange to think the system I built by hand is now being played on by someone else out there, don't even know who!
I've been reading reviews of the BBC blu-ray documentaries on blu-ray.com and apparently the US versions are better as they're 24fps, and don't distort the sound as the 25fps UK ones do.
I got 'Yellowstone' off eBay, sounded quite good, a BBC documentary series doing Yellowstone through the seasons. Popped it into my PS3...watched 5 minutes, the quality wasn't that good. I'm sure...
