I never thought of an electronic/electrical environment being a Laboratory. Usually a workshop for me as a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer.
I always associated a Lab with Medicine/Chemicals. :whistle:
Quite a lot of electronics enthusiasts refer to their workshops as 'labs', and I've come to adopt this too. Not sure why, as lab does tend to associate more with chemistry, as you say.
