The Amiga had a game called "It Came From the Desert" & was based on a story out in the desert with Gigantic Ants....

I'm still not sure where you are trying to go, but I mean it sure does look like it's based on / heavily inspired by / a spiritual successor to (take your pick, or a negatively minded person may say 'a rip off of') 'It came from the Desert'

Indeed DC, therefore it seems to me like "was anyone from the original involved in this?" is very much a reasonable question to ask, you and I agree on this....
So I'm still really not sure what Kin is trying to say.
