PS5 Tempest 3D Audio

A very overlooked feature of the PS5 is Tempest 3D Audio. This technology is powered by an extra AMD GPU compute unit within the PS5.

Many are confused by this 3D Audio because they have seen Sony's own PS5 Pulse 3D headphones and assume the technology is specific to them. This isn't true. It works with all headphones. You just need to activate the setting in the PS5.

Tempest 3D audiob really is 3D. It isn't the same as Dolby Atmos that works in a 2 speaker 2D plane to create sound movement across the sound space Tempest 3D is real 3D positioned audio using just the stereo headphones.

If you have a PS5 try it. You won't be disappointed

I'm hoping, and a bit worried, that the Silent Hill remake will be using it
